My Tarot card of the day is the 7 of Wands. This is a card of doing battle in the face of fierce opposition. One guy is battling 6 other guys. How is he still winning? He’s winning by taking the higher ground. This can mean different things in different scenarios, of course; It can be literal or metaphorical. But it must always mean taking the ideological higher ground or any ‘victory’ becomes a hollow victory.
Taking the higher ground also means not allowing oneself to get distracted. A lot of people on social media are shouting about how this thing or that is ‘just a distraction.’ However, you rarely see anyone suggesting a better tactic. The skillful commander monitors the situation carefully and arranges his army to strike a decisive blow where weakness in the ranks of the enemy has been detected.
The skillful commander knows that pushback is inevitable. But rather than engaging in the chaos that follows, he pulls back and allows his troops to rest and reform before engaging again. Every move has to be carefully calculated, especially in the face of overwhelming opposition.
The weakness of the enemy now is to use emotional manipulation. This only reaches so far. Of course, they know this. Their behavioural psychologists are stretching it just as far as it will go. Then they regroup while creating distractions to bleed the resistance of strength.
So far, it’s easy to discern the formula but there is an unknown component and that’s the one the enemy fears. Why? Because they can’t control it. You see, Heaven is on the side of the upright. Heaven’s grace can descend at any time and throw the enemy unexpected curve balls.
Guidance from the I Ching
Today’s Hexagram is 44, Gou - Encountering/Liason, transforming into 50 Ding - Establishing the New/Cauldron. Heaven above Wind changes into Fire above Wind.
Grace is about to descend. All the skillful commander has to do now is yield to Heaven’s guidance and influence. The situation will be illuminated from above. The moment to strike the decisive blow will be revealed by the weakness of those who are not aligned.
Continue to focus on being of service, for the Highest Good, and all will come right. Meanwhile, watch out for those who insist on dragging you into distractions and draining drama. They will make it hard, if not impossible, for you to stay firm on higher ground.
Love,
Lisa Frideborg
PS. Please ignore the images on the I Ching of Love Oracle Cards. They are not relevant to today’s message. In fact, I feel especially the imagery chosen for Hexagram 50 is not relevant to the Hexagram at all, even when reading for love & relationships. The cards are there only as a visual for this morning’s coin toss, to show the Hexagram(s).
